Both generations speak DoIP through the same OBD2 port, so the same BMW ENET cable connects to either. What changes is the software dataset: the F30 (F-Series) is coded with E-SYS using the classic F-daten/PSdZData structure, while the G20 (G-Series) introduced the S15A architecture with updated ECU variants and, on later cars, gateway security that limits some write operations.
