ENET Cable for the C300 (W205)

The W205 C-Class is where Mercedes went all-in on DoIP — which is why a $29.99 adapter replaces a $500+ Star C4 for most jobs on this car.

W205 C300: A DoIP-Native Vehicle

Every W205 C300 (2015–2021) routes full diagnostics through its Ethernet gateway. That means the ENET/DoIP adapter connects natively — no multiplexer emulation, no 38-pin adapters. The Star C4/C5 hardware exists to cover older CAN-only Mercedes; on a W205 it is an expensive passthrough.

The 10-Minute XENTRY Configuration

The full passthru configuration — interface selection, IP behaviour and the fixes for every common error — is documented step by step in the XENTRY ENET configuration guide. For engineering-level variant coding, continue to the DTS Monaco setup.

Frequently Asked Questions

My C300 is a 2022 (W206) — does this still apply?
Yes, even more so: the W206 is DoIP-only. The same adapter and the same XENTRY configuration apply; see the Mercedes DoIP pillar page for the W206 notes.
Do I need a Star C4 for anything on a W205?
Only for legacy pre-2016 CAN workflows. Everything diagnostic on the W205 runs over DoIP — the C4 adds nothing here.
Will XENTRY over ENET do SCN online coding?
The connection path works; SCN coding additionally requires valid Mercedes online credentials, which is a subscription matter, not a hardware one.
