On DoIP-native JLR vehicles, every interface above ends up as an Ethernet bridge to the same gateway. The Mongoose adds a CAN transceiver you don't use on a 2018+ Range Rover; the genuine VCI adds isolation, official support and multi-protocol coverage a workshop needs — at 75x the price. For diagnostics, CCF editing and Pathfinder sessions, the ENET path delivers the identical protocol.
The one genuine ENET gap was TOPIx Cloud programming, which expected the official VCI — closed by the TOPIx via ENET software bridge.
